Pagan Pride World Wide
It’s said that Rob Darken (from the almighty Graveland) is on the band’s cast, but it’s uncertain if he participates on the recordings (the promo photo shows another guy by the name of Sebastian on the side of Aramath), but the sound is undoubtedly for die-hards of Graveland.
This Austrian phenomenon started by late 1990’s and thus far he has 5 albums released (counting this one) and the “heathenest” sensations can be felt while you sit through Forgotten Pride.
Actually there are no highlights and the songs sound all the same: GOOD. I’d hear this album one thousand times, because the material inside is really ace!
The mix of pagan and black metal, unpolished, made with gusto for the heathenism with acoustic guitars mingled with raw riffs and syncopated drumming is one of the most perfect things in Black Metal hailing from Europe.
The iteration is also used in the side of Woodtemple, because the melodies are so good that I wouldn’t bother any variations. That’s the great trick of this fabulous album!
Forgotten Pride is one the greatest releases in the current Black Metal scene and it’s untimely as all other Woodtemple releases. Total support!
Forgotten Pride is out now on Sacrilege Records.
