Cannibal Corpse’s guitarist Pat O’Brien substituted for Erik Rutan

Erik Rutan to fill in for estranged Pat O’Brien, but not confirmed he’s definitely out of Cannibal Corpse.

It was announced that Erik Rutan was announced to fill in for Pat O’Brien in the upcoming 2019 tour. According to Cannibal Corpse official Facebook page: Rutan will appear live with the band for the Decibel Magazine Tour and the upcoming US leg of Slayer‘s final tour happening this May alongside Slayer, Lamb of God, and Amon Amarth.

Rutan is famous for had been part of Morbid Angel and for his own band Hate Eternal. He worked with Cannibal Corpse producing and mixing the albums Kill, Evisceration Plague, Torture and Red Before Black. He even contributed solos for The Time to Kill Is Now (Kill, 2006) , Unnatural (Evisceration Plague, 2009) and Only One Will Die (Red Before Black, 2017 – also contributing backing vocals for the same track).

O’Brien was arrested in December in Florida after breaking into a family house, while, at the same time, his own house went up in flames. Deana Mazurkiewicz (the wife of drummer Paul), raised a crowdfunding for O’Brien, because he’s lost everything (clothes and all) in the fire. According to Deana MazurkiewiczPat is a standup guy, true to his friends, family and his band. Also, Pat does not have insurance, and lost everything that he owns. These funds will help him get back on his feet with the regular much-needed necessities like clothing, a roof over his head, and other daily life necessities that are needed.” If you want to help access . As of today (January 21) the fundraiser has raised $24,452 out of $60,000 goal.
